Construction Progress on Victoria Bridge

Staff and contractors have been making good progress on the Victoria Bridge. The existing bridge has been completely removed, with the exception of the centre pier, which will be removed next July to minimize environmental impacts. The construction of the foundations for the new arch bridge is underway and is currently focused on the south-east corner.  The fabrication of the new steel arches is happening off-site and the arches are expected to be delivered to the site in early spring 2023 for assembly and erection.

Thames Pool Update

City staff are working through an investigative phase in partnership with specialized aquatic consultants to determine the causes of the infrastructure failure in 2022. Solutions and options will be brought forward to City Council for their consideration in early 2023. I’ll keep you in the loop on this as it moves forward.
