What is the Ward 11 Youth Team?
The Ward 11 Youth Team is a group of young leaders who work alongside Councillor Franke to provide youth perspectives on local issues, develop initiatives that benefit the community, and gain hands-on experience in civic engagement. This is a great opportunity to meet like-minded peers, build leadership skills, and contribute to meaningful change.
What You’ll Do:
As a member of the Youth Team, you may take part in:
✅ Engaging with residents at the Ward 11 Outreach Booth
✅ Helping organizing and engage at Ward 11 Town Halls
✅ Connecting with residents by canvassing or dropping of information
✅ Attending consultations and public meetings
✅ Supporting volunteer projects and community clean-ups
✅ Networking with city leaders and local organizations
✅ Brainstorming and implementing initiatives to improve Ward 11
Time Commitment:
- Term: Minimum 6 months commitment

Meetings: Expectations for attendance at 3 events a year.
- Orientation in March and meeting in May, July, Oct
- Outreach Booths: Wortley Pride (June), Gathering on the Green (June), others TBD
- Townhalls: One spring, one fall
- Canvassing opportunities in spring, summer and fall
- Clean & Green park cleanups
Expectations:
✔ Age range: 12-29
✔ Residents of or connected to Ward 11 in some way
✔ Reliable, enthusiastic, and willing to collaborate
✔ No prior experience necessary—just a passion for your community!
